Gerald B. Mturi is an Accountant. He joined the Mining Industry in Tanzania in 1999. Prior to that he worked for the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA); and later on with TOTAL, the French oil company. He joined the Tanzania Chamber of Mines in September 2016 as its Executive Secretary after serving as CEO of Resolute (Tanzania) Limited for two years during which time he oversaw the statutory closure and final rehabilitation of the Golden Pride Mine, by then a Resolute’s flagship project in Tanzania, having produced in excess of 2M oz during its 15 years life of mine. During his career with Resolute he spent 5 years at the mine site in Nzega and the remaining 11 years at the corporate office in Dar es Salaam. Gerald is a member of the TEITI MSG representing mining companies. He is the current Vice President of the Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (MIASA).
