Prime Minister urge CSOs to engage in sustainable projects at the grassroots level.

The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa urge for CSOs in the country to design their projects in a manner that ensure sustainability and inclusive growth at the grassroot level. He said this today, Monday 04th November 2019 during inaugurations of CSOs exhibition week at Jamuhuri stadium, Dodoma.

Prime Minister recognised CSOs contribution in national and community development including but not limited to extractives, legal services, policy reforms and social service delivery. In line with the above, Hon Majaliwa emphasized on the partnership among CSOs, Government, Donor community and Private sector for ensuring attainment of sustainable development in the country.

On extractive sector, CSOs are working to promote transparency, accountability, effective management of the revenue accrued from the sector, local content and inclusive growth. However, the concern remains to be limited knowledge at the grassroots level on impact of extractive projects. When he visited HakiRasilimali exhibition booth, The Prime Minister called upon HakiRasilimali and its members to work closely with communities in Lindi, Mtwara and Tanga as directly affected (positively and negatively) by Oil and Gas projects without forgetting other regions
